Overview

Hydraulic performance and tractor requirements

The LS-100 draws power from the tractor’s hydraulic system, so the splitting force available depends on the system’s operating pressure. Wessex specifies 5 ton at 2500 psi (172 bar), 6.5 ton at 3000 psi (210 bar) and up to 10 ton at 3500 psi (240 bar). The maximum figure is therefore conditional on the tractor providing the stated pressure.

A minimum tractor power of 30 hp is specified. Check your tractor’s hydraulic pressure and connection requirements against the splitter’s 1/2-inch quick-release fittings before purchase.

Loading and operation

The floor-level loading platform provides a low position for placing logs before splitting. The two-hand control system is stated to meet HSE requirements. An optional wide base plate is available for customers who require that configuration.

Wessex manufacturer warranty

The standard manufacturer warranty is one year, subject to Wessex’s applicable terms. For this LS-100, extended cover of up to three years in total is available with online warranty registration, subject to model eligibility and the manufacturer’s terms. The extension is conditional and is not automatic; retain the applicable operating, maintenance and servicing requirements.
