Overview

The Hansa C5 is a compact petrol wood chipper for processing branches and woody garden or property-maintenance material up to 60mm in diameter. Its Honda GP200 engine drives a single cutting disc, while the gravity-fed, self-feeding inlet helps draw material into the cutting mechanism. The C5 produces woodchip around 5–10mm in size, which can be used for purposes such as composting, weed suppression and moisture retention.

Chipping performance and operation

The C5 is suited to customers who need to turn branches and similar woody material into manageable woodchip. Its maximum chipping capacity is 60mm, and the manufacturer gives a typical chip size of 5–10mm.

Material is fed by gravity, with a self-feeding action helping to draw it into the cutting system. The single knife shears material against a hardened anvil in a scissor-like action. The rotating disc also creates airflow to discharge mulch through the outlet.

Engine and practical details

Power comes from a Honda GP200 petrol engine rated at up to 6.5HP / 4.8kW, with recoil starting. The C5 weighs 67kg and has 250mm solid wheels for moving the machine around the working area.

Hansa warranty

Standard Hansa machine warranty is 12 months for domestic use, 12 months for commercial use excluding hire, or 3 months for commercial hire. Eligible domestic and commercial customers who are not using the machine for hire may qualify for extended cover up to 36 months total or 1,000 hours, whichever occurs first.

Extended cover requires purchase from an authorised Hansa dealer, registration by machine serial number within 10 days of purchase, and scheduled servicing by a Hansa dealer using genuine Hansa parts. The manufacturer's applicable warranty terms and maintenance requirements apply; commercial hire is excluded from extended cover.
