Overview

The EGO RMR1500E is a wire-free robotic lawn mower for maintaining lawns with a recommended area of up to 1,500m². Part of EGO’s AURA-R2 range, it uses PATH IQ™ navigation to map the lawn, plan mowing routes and adjust its path in real time, without a boundary wire. Vision-based boundary identification and obstacle avoidance, app connectivity and multi-zone mowing make it a versatile option for domestic properties with more than one lawn area or a layout that would benefit from wire-free setup.

Wire-free navigation and lawn mapping

PATH IQ™ combines Real-Time Kinematic satellite positioning with Visual Inertial Odometry and binocular-vision mapping. The mower maps the working area, plans systematic routes and adapts and corrects its path in real time. Flexible antenna positioning options support setup, while the virtual boundary system removes the need to install a boundary wire.

The RMR1500E can manage up to 20 mowing zones, which is useful for properties with several separate lawn areas. Its stated narrowest passage width is 102cm, an important measurement to check against connecting routes on the property.

Cutting performance and operating area

A 24cm cutting width, brushless motor and three pivoting blades handle routine robotic mowing. Electronic adjustment sets the cutting height between 20mm and 90mm, giving flexibility to suit the lawn and desired finish.

EGO states a recommended mowing area of 1,500m² and a daily mowing area of 2,500m² over 24 hours. The stated mowing area per charge is 330m², with mowing time per charge of two hours. These figures provide different measures of capacity and should be considered in light of the lawn layout, mowing schedule and operating conditions. The mower is specified for slopes up to 50%.

Vision, app control and security

The binocular stereo-vision camera supports both lawn-boundary identification and obstacle avoidance. Rainfall detection pauses mowing to help protect the lawn, while a night-mode fill light supports operation in darker conditions. A 180-degree front bumper is also fitted.

Control and connectivity are provided through the EGO Connect App, using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or 4G. The mower also has built-in GPS, remote locking and theft tracking. Three years of data are included, and firmware can be updated over the air.

Warranty

The stated warranty period is three years for the mower and two years for the battery, subject to the manufacturer’s applicable warranty terms.
