Overview
The Billy Goat BC2601HH is a heavy-duty, self-propelled walk-behind brushcutter for tackling overgrown areas such as fields, meadows and paths. Its 26in (66cm) pivoting deck follows uneven ground, while the 389cc Honda GXV390 engine and hydrostatic drive provide the power and controllable movement needed for demanding vegetation-clearing work. Designed for dense brush and rough terrain, the BC2601HH combines a reinforced blade spindle with Automatic Controlled Traction. It is suited to landowners, grounds maintenance teams and other operators who need a walk-behind machine for clearing substantial areas that are unsuitable for routine lawn mowing.
Key Features
- 389cc Honda GXV390 engine, rated at 10.2 HP.
- 26in (66cm) pivoting mower deck with a fixed 9.5cm cutting height.
- Self-propelled hydrostatic transmission with infinitely variable forward and reverse speeds.
- Automatic Controlled Traction responds to rear-wheel slip.
- Handle-mounted padded controls allow the operator to feather forward and reverse speed without shifting.
- Reinforced blade spindle designed for harsh cutting conditions.
- Wide tractor tyres provide traction and pulling power.
- Manufacturer-stated productivity of up to 2,700m² per hour.
Pivoting deck for uneven ground
The 66cm deck pivots by up to 12 degrees in either direction and returns to neutral. This lets it follow changes in ground level, helping to reduce scalping and maintain cutting quality across uneven terrain. The deck design also keeps machine weight on the drive wheels to support traction.
The manufacturer describes the pivoting-deck BC26 as using higher blade-tip speed and a ground-following deck to improve cutting speed and quality on uneven ground. A rubber rear deck trim is intended to improve stump clearance when reversing.
Hydrostatic drive and traction
A variable hydrostatic transmission provides infinitely variable forward and reverse speeds. Padded controls mounted on the handle let the operator adjust movement without shifting between gears, making it easier to match travel speed to the terrain and cutting task.
Automatic Controlled Traction reacts to rear-wheel slip, while the wide tractor tyres are fitted to provide traction and pulling power. These features are relevant when working across rough or challenging ground.
For demanding vegetation clearance
Billy Goat positions its walk-behind brushcutter range for overgrown brush, fields, meadows and trail or path clearing. The range is intended for tall grass, dense brush, brambles and saplings up to 5cm in diameter. The BC2601HH's reinforced blade spindle is designed for durability in harsh cutting conditions.
The current Europe product specification gives a productivity figure of up to 2,700m² per hour. Actual working output will depend on vegetation, terrain and operating conditions.
Engine and starting
The BC2601HH is powered by a 389cc Honda GXV390 engine rated at 10.2 HP and uses recoil starting. Its 147kg machine weight and self-propelled drive are important considerations when assessing access, transport and storage.
