Overview

The EGO HT5110E is a 51cm cordless hedge trimmer designed for professional users tackling narrower or long hedges, including growth with thicker stems. Its brushless motor, laser-cut diamond-ground blades and two-speed cutting give the operator a choice of pace for different trimming tasks. The adjustable rotating rear handle helps adapt the grip and working position, while this 2026 evolution of the HT5100E is specified with longer runtime, faster cutting and smoother operation.

Cutting performance and control

The 51cm blade is suited to maintaining narrower hedges and working along longer runs. A 33mm blade gap and 30mm tooth depth support cutting through thicker stem widths, while the laser-cut, diamond-ground blade and dual-action, double-knife-edge arrangement provide the specified cutting configuration.

Two speeds let the operator select between 3,000 and 3,600rpm to suit the trimming task. The rotating rear handle can be adjusted to change hand position when working along different faces or shaping a hedge.

2026 update and runtime

Listed by EGO as new for 2026, the HT5110E is an evolution of the HT5100E. EGO states that the updated model delivers 33% more runtime, increased cutting speed and 43% less vibration than its predecessor. Its magnesium-alloy gearbox is specified as part of the update, which EGO also describes as providing smoother operation and simpler servicing.

EGO quotes runtimes of up to 80 minutes with a 2.5Ah BA1400T battery, 140 minutes with a 4Ah BA2242T, 180 minutes with a 5Ah BA2800T, 220 minutes with a 6Ah BA3360T, 270 minutes with a 7.5Ah BA4200T, 290 minutes with an 8Ah BA4480X, 360 minutes with a 10Ah BA5600T and 440 minutes with a 12Ah BA6720T. These are manufacturer maximum figures for the named batteries; actual runtime varies with working conditions and use.

EGO 56V battery platform and warranty

The HT5110E is part of EGO's 56V cordless tool range. EGO states that its 56V ARC Lithium batteries work across the EGO Power+ 56V tool range, including PRO X tools, with robotic mowers excluded from that battery system.

The manufacturer warranty is five years for domestic use and two years for professional use, subject to EGO's applicable warranty terms.
