Overview

The EGO BC3800E is a cordless brush cutter for tackling grass and vegetation with a choice of cutting attachments. Use the 38cm line trimmer head for grass and lighter vegetation, or fit the three-sided steel blade for a 30cm cutting width when a blade is better suited to the task. A brushless motor and two-speed operation give this 56V EGO tool the versatility to handle different trimming requirements.

• Rapid reload bump-feed head with dual line and 2.4mm line supplied.
• Three-sided steel blade for blade-based cutting tasks.
• Brushless motor, two-speed operation and constant variable speed control.
• Quick-adjust auxiliary handle for adjusting the tool to suit the operator.
• Compatible with EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries across the EGO Power+ 56V tool range; batteries are not specified as included.

Choose the cutting attachment for the job

The line trimmer head uses dual 2.4mm line and has a 38cm cutting width. Its rapid reload bump-feed design lets the operator advance the line by bumping the head, while the 2.4mm line sits within EGO’s recommended 2.0–2.4mm range for grass and light vegetation.

For suitable blade-cutting work, the three-sided steel blade provides a 30cm cutting width. Having both cutting options gives the BC3800E flexibility for different trimming tasks without treating the two attachments as interchangeable in every application.

Operation and working time

The brushless motor operates at a no-load speed of 6,000–7,000rpm. Two-speed operation and constant variable speed control are listed for the tool, allowing its running speed to be adjusted during use.

EGO quotes runtimes of up to 30 minutes with a 4Ah BA2242T battery, up to 40 minutes with a 5Ah BA2800T, and up to 50 minutes with a 6Ah BA3360T. Larger listed batteries extend the quoted upper limits, up to 270 minutes with a 28Ah BAX1500. These are manufacturer-stated maximum runtimes for the specified battery models; actual working time will vary with conditions and use.

EGO 56V battery platform

The BC3800E is part of EGO’s 56V cordless tool system. EGO states that its 56V ARC Lithium batteries work across the EGO Power+ 56V tool range, including PRO X tools, with robotic mowers excluded from this battery system. Battery and charger inclusion is not stated here, so check the selected product configuration before ordering.

Warranty

The BC3800E has a stated five-year domestic warranty and two-year professional warranty, subject to EGO’s applicable warranty terms. The separate coverage periods are relevant when choosing the tool for home or professional use.
