• Billy Goat BC2601HEBH 26in Self-Propelled Walk-Behind Brushcutter

Overview

The Billy Goat BC2601HEBH is a self-propelled walk-behind brushcutter for tackling overgrown areas such as fields, meadows and paths. Its 26in cutting width and pivoting deck are suited to working through dense vegetation and following uneven ground. A 389cc Honda GXV390 engine, electric start and hydrostatic drive provide the power and control for demanding brush-clearing work.

Key Features

  • 26in cutting width with a 66cm pivoting rear-discharge deck.
  • Designed for tall grass, dense brush, brambles and saplings up to 5cm in diameter.
  • 389cc Honda GXV390 engine with electric start.
  • Self-propelled variable hydrostatic transmission with infinitely variable forward and reverse speeds.
  • Automatic Controlled Traction responds to rear-wheel slip.
  • Padded handle-mounted controls let the operator adjust forward and reverse speed without shifting.
  • Fixed 9.5cm cutting height.
  • Reinforced blade spindle and wide tractor tyres for demanding cutting conditions and traction.

Brush-cutting capability

The BC2601HEBH is intended for vegetation that is beyond the scope of routine lawn mowing. Billy Goat positions its walk-behind brushcutter range for tall grass, dense brush, brambles and saplings up to 5cm in diameter, making this model relevant to clearing overgrown fields, meadows and paths.

The manufacturer quotes productivity of up to 2,700m² per hour for the current European specification. Actual output will depend on vegetation, terrain and working conditions.

Pivoting deck and traction

The 66cm rear-discharge deck pivots by up to 12 degrees and returns to neutral, helping it follow uneven terrain. This ground-following action is intended to reduce scalping and keep machine weight on the drive wheels for traction. The manufacturer also describes the pivoting-deck BC26 as having higher blade-tip speed to support cutting speed and quality on uneven ground.

Rubber trim at the rear of the deck is intended to improve stump clearance when reversing. The blade spindle is reinforced in four directions for durability in harsh cutting conditions.

Drive and operator control

A variable hydrostatic transmission provides infinitely variable forward and reverse speeds. Handle-mounted padded controls allow the operator to feather the speed in either direction without shifting, which is useful when manoeuvring around obstacles or adjusting progress to suit the vegetation.

Automatic Controlled Traction reacts to rear-wheel slip, while wide tractor tyres are fitted to provide traction and pulling power. The BC2601HEBH is self-propelled and has electric start.

Engine and cutting height

Power comes from a 389cc Honda GXV390 engine rated at 10.2HP. The cutting height is fixed at 9.5cm, so this model is configured for brush and rough-ground clearing rather than adjustable-height lawn mowing.
